AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Program Manager in Afghanistan. The duties and responsibilities of the Program Manager as follow. Supervise and manage program activities in multiple disciplines covering technical and/or non-technical areas. Such areas include engineering design, development, testing, implementation, operation and maintenance of diverse integrated electronic and mechanical systems; operations research; asset management, and program documentation. Supervise, coach and lead work teams in the accomplishment of goals and tasks in support of specific programs. Perform and supervise multi-disciplinary technical and/or non-technical tasks for applicable programs. Interface with customers to determine specific needs and requirements. Develop detailed staffing requirements, assignments and plans to meet customer needs. Estimate personnel needs and schedule and assign work to meet completion dates. Coordinate the investigation and resolution of operational problems in conjunction with other personnel. Perform management level customer interface, including responsibility for contractual deliverables, development of responses to the Requests for Quotes and overall task execution. Develop required technical and management documentation in support of customer technical and programmatic reviews.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Seven (7) years of job related experience or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required.

  • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications is required.

  • Extensive travel may be required. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional or Certified Associate in Project Management credential desired.

  • Strong background in acquisition processes.
