This is a proposal position (contingent upon contract award).


Configuration Management architects and administers the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) application for all client and server devices. Responsible for workstation OS, software, patch deployment, SQL Reports and creates custom dashboards to display the overall health of the enterprise environment. Serves at the tier-three support for instructing staff on the proper use of the systems and applications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Designs, tests, implements, install,s configures, and administers desktop operating systems, Windows Server, and SCCM.

  • Maintains Standard Desktop image in accordance with DOD IA standards.

  • Monitors, responds, and coordinates incident and request ticket remediation.

  • Assists and leads deployment and design projects.

  • Develops server scripts for the purpose of executing repeatable tasks.

  • Plans and implements Enterprise desktop operating systems and application distribution systems.

  • Packages and deploys applications and patches throughout the Enterprise. Automates processes and tasks through scripts.

  • Utilizes Active Directory in a distributed environment.

  • Troubleshoots problems and resolves them quickly and effectively.

  • Ensures the configuration management process is implemented and maintained according to guidelines from the process owner. Keeps appropriate databases updated to accurately reflect system baselines, and perform audits on such database to ensure effectiveness of controls.

  • Provides continuous coordination of progress on actions, tasking, and issues.

  • Reviews and edits applicable technical documentation.

  • Establishes and maintains both new and existing schedules, respectively, and implements and improves the CM process, working methods and tools. Liaise with the customer to ensure requirements are met and ensures the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) integrity.

  • Implements approved changes to CMDB structure including attributes and relationships.

  • Plans a schedule of independent audits and performs audits on the CMDB, comparing its contents with the actual IT infrastructure. Produces and issues management reports from CMDB.

  • Provides executive technical support to the Configuration Advisory Board (CAB), including scheduling meetings, developing agenda, assisting project managers who are on the agenda and assisting the CAB chair to run and facilitate the meetings. Provide support for CAB meetings which includes meeting agenda development, attendee notification of meetings, and entry of board-related data into appropriate databases, and identification and troubleshooting of problems related to Configuration Control Board (CCB) action items/issues.

  • Develops standards, guidelines, and SOPs to guide the use of the Request for Change (RFC) & Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) process.


  • Five to seven (5 – 7) years of practical experience working with Windows Server and Active Directory and NetOps Tools is required.

  • Must be DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical III (IAT-3) certified.

  • Must have one of the following CE certifications: CCNA, CCDA, CISSP, MCSE, MCITP Enterprise Administrator.

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: high-level analysis of SCCM server and client issues, package creation and delivery, report creation and generation, WMI, and infrastructure expansion.

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the following scripting languages: PowerShell, SQL, and VBScript.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required.

  • Must have the ability to brief high-ranking military officials.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications required.

  • Must be able to function independently.

  • Must be able to meet medical requirements for deployment to danger/hardship location.
