Raytheon ARMED: G7 Trainer/Mentor (SMW HQ) in Afghanistan

POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING Job Description: The G7 Trainer/Mentor shall be directly responsible for providing TAAM to the G7 OIC and Deputy G7 and indirectly shall provide TAAM to brigade level staff and subordinate personnel and any other sections as it relates to professional training, development, lessons learned, and professional military education of SMW personnel. Required Hours: Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites. Responsibilities: The collection of data and lessons learned which will be utilized in developing training (individual/collective), and professional military education that supports the vision and strategies of the command while improving the warfighting capability. The development and implementation of new learning methodologies, and serves as the subject matter expert (SME) in the development and other mission command collective training. This training may include but is not limited to simulations, scenarios, exercises and other collective training events that enable the NMB. The design, script writing, development, resourcing, and direction and after action review for collective exercises along with other training methods and procedures to replicate the operational environment and meet the desired training requirements. The position will provide assistance during collective training and other designated events including the development of all orders and processes to support the events. Required Qualifications: Shall have 6 to 10 years work experience as a senior commissioned or non-commissioned officer with extensive experience and expertise in military training management combined with Combat Training Center Experience and/or combat experience Must have successfully served in duty positions at the Battalion, Brigade, Division, and/or CTC level as an operations officer or NCO, planner, or other key staff positions involving military training management Working knowledge of Professional Military Education (PME) development as it pertains to Soldier and leader development Should have previous deployment experience in Afghanistan and possess knowledge and technical expertise with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan Willing to assist the team and teammates to accomplish mission requirements in other areas outside the scope of work, for short duration. Physical & Mental Requirements: This is an ARMED position . Must obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG). Must successfully complete/maintain arming requirements including but not limited to: Psychological evaluation; Completion of Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior Wear required personal protective gear: body armor, helmet, etc. Independently lift/carry duffle bags with a max weight of 70 lbs/piece & move across uneven terrain Work & live in AFG with potential assignment to any location in AFG based upon needs of the U.S. Gov’t Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening & published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear Work, live & respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances in a potentially hostile environment - at remote locations, under austere conditions - with extreme aircraft noise, hostile fire, other acts of aggression and/or extreme weather conditions Maintain emotional stability & behavioral composure, performing effectively during stressful situations Comply with orders, laws, rules & regs Reliably complete tasks & duties with min supervision Appropriately modify behavior & demeanor to meet demands of a situation Mitigate risk to protect safety Refrain from using alcohol/substances inappropriately Aware of own limits; accept constructive feedback Solve difficult/complex problems Apply knowledge/reasoning & balances the risks/benefits when making decisions Multi-task without negatively impacting performance Maintain high standards of work Communicate clearly Engage as an active team member Respect diversity Security Clearance Requirement: Must have an active/current DoD SECRET security clearance used within the past two years. Clearance is required to access and handle classified and personal personnel material, attend project meetings, and/or work within restricted areas unescorted. Desired Qualifications: Prefer experience with military training support to Infantry with Special Operations background (desired) Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers Required Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited school & six (6) years of related experience, OR four (4) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (14 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
